Since it reopened this summer, people of all ages have been enjoying the refurbished bandstand on Brighton seafront.
But questions are now being asked after rust was spotted coming through the paintwork again.
It is not the first time residents have complained to Brighton and Hove City Council about the 125-year-old structure rusting since it reopened in July.
But the council, which says the repeat paint jobs are all part of the original contract and are not costing the taxpayer any extra money, has not given a reason as to why the bandstand keeps rusting.
The problem started just one month after the bandstand reopened after a £850,000 restoration project.
A council spokeswoman would not say why rust has again been spotted on the bandstand.
She said: “The council is in discussions with the contractor to undertake a number of outstanding remedial works.
“Some work has already been completed but unfortunately has been delayed as a result of the unprecedented amount of rain we have recently experienced.
“All this work is covered under the contract and therefore undertaken at no extra cost to the council.”
