See in the New Year… on a very special Downs night walk for the Martlets!
And now for something completely different ....... walk into the New Year with The Martlets. For those who wish to escape the TV and noise of New Year’s Eve parties, join the Martlets on Thursday 31st December for a three hour sponsored night walk starting and finishing at Plumpton College. The walk begins at 8.30 pm and you will back at the college in time to welcome in the New Year with bubbly and canapés.
Registration is £20.00 and numbers are limited. The registration fee includes your own head-torch and refreshments before and after the walk. Please note that this is a group walk and you will be asked to stay with the group in the interest of safety. You will also need proper walking boots and appropriate clothing as you will be walking on footpaths, bridleways and tracks.
About the Martlets Hospice The Martlets Hospice helps people affected by terminal and life limiting illness living in and around Brighton & Hove. The Martlets Hospice provides end of life care services to adults with terminal disease including cancer. Hospice facilities include an 18 bed InPatient Unit, Day Hospice and Martlets @ Home Service. Practical and emotional support is also offered to the families and carers of patients including helping them through bereavement.
The Martlets main aim is to maximise the quality of life for patients and to support patient choice, dignity and independence in all they do. A registered charity and not part of the NHS, all Hospice services are provided free of charge. It costs over £4 million every year to run the Hospice, just £1.2 million of this come from government funding and local community support is essential to the charities survival.
