And this one has a great selling point…IT’S FREE!!!
I am posting this earlier than usual because Brighton Live is on from today until Saturday and everyone should make the most of the free music and seminars that is has to offer. Being totally honest, these are not huge bands - most I haven’t heard of. But the 150 bands that are playing across 30 different venues across Brighton & Hove have already proven themselves to be included in the festival. Such an event provides a great opportunity for some pot luck action allowing you to pop in and see bands of genres you wouldn’t have ever considered seeing and who knows, open your eyes to a whole new world of music.
Check out http://www.brightonlive.net for a list of the bands and venues. And there’s even a Hot Tips section if you really need to read up on the artists beforehand. If the events from Wednesday-Friday inspire you, Saturday is dedicated to free music related seminars and workshops, ensuring that Brighton continues to churn out great musicians.
So go on, take this great opportunity to go and see some bands, whilst supporting the local music scene. Recent events such as Beachdown have proven that the music scene that Brighton is renowned for, shouldn’t be taken for granted.
