I started the day with my comfortable marketing hat on as I read through an academic proposal that is going to a large corporate for a new venture we are assisting them with. Then, I spent time with our IT team plugging in cables and testing to make sure our plasma screen and wi-fi are all set for audio/video on Friday’s Shell STEP regional final presentations. I uploaded and tested 15 presentations and the Shell STEP projects this year are looking fantastic as always.
I used LinkedIn to find some great Biotech contacts for our Health Innovation event in November. I got a whole lot more contacts on LinkedIn as a result which is proving a great resource in general and I feel we haven’t quite tapped into it enough.
I wandered into the Admin office to finally say good morning to the accounts and facilities teams. After a catch up about our respective weekends, I couldn’t help stealing some chocolate biscuits on offer…mmmm.
Then, I put together a proposal for one of our companies who are seeking to target a new sector with their innovative technology. The proposal looks at some flexible and creative use of our commercial team to break into that segment on their behalf.
A lovely close to the day was reading some great feedback from participants at last weeks Marketing Event hosted here. It’s always nice to make a difference in people’s businesses and give them energy and enthusiasm to move forwards and the event seemed to manage that well.
Finally, I am tweeting, blogging and telling the world what we do here which is something we are getting better at since our Shell STEP student has been here with that exact mission in mind. I wonder what tomorrow will bring? It would be fascinating to hear a day in the life of other companies, I think….go on, everyone!
