WITH reference to Councillor Theobald’s letter, “Over the top”, (The Argus, August 22), I haven’t seen the lavender bushes in Balfour Road but they cannot be as bad as the tree outside my house.

The roots are lifting the pavement and cracking my garden wall plus the shoots at the bottom go right across the pavement so you cannot walk past.

Three little children on scooters nearly had their eyes poked out.

I have complained to the tree department several times but to no avail.

Surely this is a health and safety hazard as are many other trees in the town which are too big for the area.
