Katie Price’s boxing trainer said the model is tough enough to hold her own after she was floored in a brawl.

Brighton-born Katie, 31, was pushed to the ground outside a cage fighting event she attended with boyfriend Alex Reid, 34.

He was reportedly punched as fighting spilled onto the street outside Extreme Brawl in London.

Trainer Sol Gilbert, who has been getting Katie into shape at the ZT Fightskool in Fontwell Road, Hove, said he would be too scared to pick a fight with glamour model.

He said: “I wouldn't take anyone on outside a club, but if I had to have a fight with anybody, I'd rather it wasn't Katie.

“I have sparred with her a few times and I'm not too proud to say she's pretty good and I'm too scared to punch near her nose or teeth.”

Mr Gilbert added he also tries to avoid landing a blow on Katie’s most famous assets.

The coach said the 31-year-old celebrity had been shaken by the dust-up, which The Sun claimed was started when a group of gypsy bare-knuckle fighters tried to pick a fight with cahefighter Reid.

Mr Gilbert said: “I’ve spoken to Katie.”

“She wasn't injured and she's still planning to come down to the gym for her boxing training.

“At the end of the day Katie's been around fights for the last three months or so.

“She's seen the fights, but it is a bit different when it happens on the street.

“It is definitely a scary thing to happen outside, where there's no control, no referee, no medics and no ring or cage.”

The fighting coash said he thought Reid had been seen as an “easy target”.

He added: “Unfortunately Katie was there as well.

“Neither of them would want to be around that sort of stuff.”

Sol has been training Katie up for a boys against girls fight at the White Air Festival in Madeira Drive on September 20.

Katie and former Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton will take on Alex and Michelle's boyfriend Hugh Hanley.

Mr Gilbert also revealed that Katie’s new work out regime meant she was hoping to put out an air brush free calendar.
