Drive-by yobs fired a catapult at a clergyman in a night of vandalism.
Police received more than a dozen reports of two men firing projectiles from a moving car on Tuesday night.
They were spotted in Ditchling, South Chailey, Hassocks, Haywards Heath and Lindfield.
Police said two men aged about 20 were seen in a white car, possibly a Peugeot.
The attacks followed similar reports in Brighton, Haywards Heath and Balcombe in July.
Sergeant Martin Theelke of Sussex Police said a Reverend was bruised by a stone in West Street, Ditchling, while elsewhere windows were put through.
He said: “This is a stupid and dangerous antic which is costing innocent people time and money to organise repairs to damaged property.
"I would ask residents to be vigilant and report any incidents to police, at the time. Make a note of a description of the offender, and the car they may be driving.
“This will maximise the potential of catching those involved. We have not ruled out a link to other similar offences in this area in the past.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Sussex Police on 0845 6070999, Crimestoppers anonymously on 0845 6070999 or 999 if an incident is taking place.
