What were you trying to prove by printing two questions from a current GCSE Maths paper (The Argus, August 28)?
As someone who just scraped a pass in Maths GCE O-level in the 1960s, I can now safely say that at today’s level I would gain an A*.
The questions took less than a minute each for both my husband and I to solve and I can only think that the people you quizzed in the town who found them difficult were not people who had passed Maths at the old GCE level.
It seems you have now proved that the exams are getting easier.
