Yesterday's run went rather well - my quickest 10k yet. I have a strong suspicion that one reason is because I had such a decent break from the previous run. Whatever, I decided to run again today. Make the most of the free time when it comes round, right?
The weather's not been a typical Summer Bank Holiday sort of situation this year. Usually, it's either swelteringly hot, with the result that running along the Brighton seafront is like playing the human dodgem, or, of course, it's p.. down. Today is muggy, really hot and humid, and I strongly suspect rain is on the way.
In any case, having conquered all yesterday, I decided a 30-minute session today would be more than sufficient. I set myself no targets, either absolute or comparative, I just headed off for a jolly round the local streets. And very nice it was, too. Until, about 4 minutes from the end I bumped into a soon-to-be-ex-colleague and his glamorous wife, getting into their nice, shiny new sports car.
I won't attempt to describe my own appearance at that particular point. It wasn't that great before I went for the damned run. I dare say matey boy might join in at some point with his own description, cos he can be a right bitch. :-) Just kidding, Singe!!!
Anyway, aimless and without ambition, I covered a disappointing but strangely leaving-me-a-bit-indifferent-if-I'm-honest 5.35k. I feel another afternoon nap coming on. If I do come back as a barnacle, it will need to be a Spanish one - siestas should be mandatory.
