After a few scares in the run up to the summer fete well over 5oo people attended during the day.
There had been worries on the weeks preceding over grass cutting where the daffodils had been and the discovery of a wasp nest in the centre of the green on the Tuesday prior to the event.
However I have to thank Brighton - Hove Council for comming up trumps on both occasions.
The green was in in perfect condition thanks to Duncan and his team from the Parks Department and the wasp nest was dealt with by Pest Control in good time for the event.
There was a good variety of stalls on which punters could part with their cash.
The Flower Show held in the Village Centre was probably the best that I can remember seeing over the years with an excellent display of flowers, fruit and vegetables.
The scones on sale at the flower shower were something out of this world as was the chocolate cake no doubt with many a diabetic being tempted in to submission.
The Hutchins family along with Father Richard Rushforth put on and excellent show for the public once again and hopefully financial targets were once again met.
