Regarding Memory Lane “The Pill Factory”, (Letters August 21).
With respect, could HG Martin be confusing The Dubarry Factory with, Arthur H. Cox and Co, manufacturing chemists’ large factory at 93 Lewes Road, Brighton. It was at the Junction of Upper Lewes Road and Lewes Road and it was always known as “the pill factory”.
It’s possible, of course, both of these establishments were known as “the pill factory”.
I remember the Dubarry Factory and its beautiful packaged products very well. My cousin worked there in the 1930s.
