Notices were put on all the lamp posts in Hornby Road, Brighton, stating that on August 26, all cars must be parked elsewhere from 8am to 4pm owing to gulley cleansing.
It also said that any vehicle parked there, between these times, would be removed.
If a car is parked on a non-restricted road, with road tax, the council cannot touch it without asking your permission. If they remove it, it is theft, All the residents moved their cars through courtesy, and guess what? The council, never turned up.
If they want to come again, I suggest they write courtesy letters to Hornby Road residents and politely ask to move them.
Moving the cars the way they threatened smacks of dictatorship.
