A 54-year-old man who hid drugs in his elderly mother's loft is facing prison.
Christopher Brockbank secretly stashed away cocaine and cannabis at his mother’s Brighton home.
At Lewes Crown Court Brockbank, of Northfield Way, Brighton, admitted possessing cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply the drugs.
The court was told police raided his home in July last year where they found some of the drugs.
Officers then searched his mother's home and drugs were found in a spare bedroom and her loft.
The drugs found at both the houses are believed to have a street value of about £8,000.
Brockbank has previous convictions for drug offences dating back to 1976.
Brian Shaw, defending, said Brockbank was not in good health and suffers from a serious heart condition.
He was also the sole carer of his mother and helps to get her to bed each night before returning to his own home.
Judge Richard Hayward ordered a medical report and adjourned sentencing until October 12.
He told Brockbank he may face a lengthy prison sentence. He said: "You pleaded guilty to serious offences and a custodial sentence is inevitable."
Brockbank was released on bail on condition he reports to police three times a week and abides by a night-time curfew.
