The result of this year's Worthing Birdman competition may still be up in the air but The Argus is hoping to get to the bottom of what happened.

Fearless flyer Steve Elkins was sure he had bagged the £30,000 prize for flying 100m.

But the organisers of the event maintained that he had not passed the buoy marking out the target distance and had landed just 14cm short.
