A busy morning train had to be stopped after a boy started having a fit in front of passengers.

The 7.16am train from East Croydon to Brighton had to be stopped shortly after the station when the boy, aged about 12, started fitting.

A doctor was found and the train then sped on to Gatwick where an ambulance was waiting.

Jo Wadsworth, The Argus's website editor, was on the train.

She said: “The child must have been about 12 or 13. His mum was English and his dad Cuban.

“His mum was shouting for a doctor and someone pulled the emergency cord. Luckily there was a doctor on board and he was brilliant.”
