A woman had to be rescued from a burning building after a Fire started in a basement.
The incident was one of a number on what is shaping up to be a busy night for the county's fire services.
She was lifted to safety from an upper floor of the four-storey property in Silchester Road, Hastings, earlier this evening.
Firefighters were called at just after 7pm to reports of people trapped inside and a fire spreading below.
They used an aerial ladder platform to save the woman and six firefighters donned breathing masks to enter the blazing building and extinguish the flames.
Meanwhile, in Sutton Road, Seaford, firefighters tackled a house fire in which a mother and her young child suffered smoke inhalation.
