Festival fever hit Brighton this weekend as residents got together for a celebration.

The third annual Coldean Residents Association Festival drew in scores of visitors keen to take advantage of the sunshine and have a good time.

Attractions included a Carribean band, go-karting and an Animal Magic stall where children could get close up to pets.

Other activities included a climbing wall, appearances from the Coldean Colts football club and displays featuring firefighters and Brighton and Hove buses.

There were also a fancy dress competition, a bouncy castle, barbecue and a wide selection of stalls.

A grand raffle also attracted a lot of interest.

The free festival was held at Coldean playing field and at St Mary Magdalen Church.

The residents association said this was the biggest festival it had held so far and members were delighted with the turnout.

Coldean resident Peter Carden, who was among the many people at yesterday's event, said: “It was really enjoyable, very well organised and excellent fun.”
