TWO cars were involved in a crash on a major road this afternoon.
The accident happened at around 1.30pm on the southbound carriageway of the A23 close to the Mill Road roundabout at Brighton.
Sussex Police said there were no reports of injuries in the accident, which involved a Renault and an Escort.
One lane was closed for more than two hours as emergency services cleared the scene.
Tailbacks caused by the crash meant some football fans on the way to Withdean Stadium in Brighton for Albion's match against Stockport were delayed.
