A man jumped in front of a train early this morning - but survived when the driver braked in time.
The drama unfolded at Durrington railway station in Worthing at about 5.20am.
British Transport Police confirmed a man had jumped on the tracks as the 4.48am Barnham to Brighton train approached.
He was uninjured and taken to custody by police for a mental health assessment.
Passengers on trains in Sussex faced short delays due to the incident.
