With regards to the story “Fury over travellers’ mess”, Argus, August 14.
There’s an easy solution to this. You need two men and a jcb digger.
The driver digs a deep ditch – not too deep to upset health and safety, and then using the excavated soil to make a mound, deep enough and high enough so you can’t get a caravan accross.
The other man keeps an eye out for cables and sprinkles grass seed as you move along. You can leave gaps every so often to allow the elderly and mums with pushchairs access. When it comes to grass cutting, any good tractor driver would be able to get over. And you would not need a gate. Job done.
