SUSSEX WON BY 7 WKTS (19.4)

Fittingly it's Goodwin who hits the winning boundary off Hall with two balls to spare as he finishes unbeaten on 80 with Ed Joyce 5 not out. Dwayne Smith was caught behind in the penultimate over off Van Der Wath for 2 but Goodwin was in superb form here. Full match report on the main site soon.

Sussex 126-2 (18)

10 to win with Goodwin 73 and Dwayne Smith 2. Hall came back and bowled RHB for 29 off 30 balls (1x6) but it looks too little too late for the Steelbacks.

Sussex 113-1 (16)

24 needed from the last four overs and with wickets in hand the Sharks have this under control. Goodwin has played superbly for his 64 although he was dropped on 61 by Willey at deep mid-wicket. RHB 27 and I'm backing these two to see it home.

Sussex 87-1 (11)

Goodwin to 50 with a superbly placed four bissecting the two boundary runners on the leg side. It's come off 43 balls with seven fours. Willey the seventh bowler used by Northants but the Steelbacks look a bit flat in the field and the crowd, apart from some rousing renditions of "Sussex by the Sea" from the Rea Bank are in fairly somnolent mood as well. Think they sense that Sussex are well in charge of this one.

Sussex 69-1 (9)

Sussex in control of their run chase here, run a ball now and Goodwin is 40 and RHB 9. Five bowlers used by the Steelbacks and Harvey is coming back at the City End for a second spell. Sussex's first 50 contained 7 fours and a 6, the entire Northants innings only contained 11 boundaries.

Sussex 30-1 (4)

Wright had got to 18 off 13 balls with a six and two fours but he has just been deceived by Hall's slower ball and drilled it to mid off. Goodwin 12 and bowling change sees Harvey replace van der Wath at the pavilion end. Hamilton-Brown in with him.

Sussex 9-0 (2)

First boundary as Goodwin swings it to mid-wicket after Hall strays down leg side. Goodwin 7, Wright 2. Van Der Wath and Hall have opened the bowling.

Northants 136-6 (20)

Sussex will be pleased with their efforts in the field. All the bowlers gave Yardy control and it was only in the last two overs when four boundaries were scored from the final eight deliveries that Northants really went for it. Surprised to see Andrew Hall coming in so low, he only faced three balls. Boje made 34 off 29 balls with Hall 5 not out. Arafat outstanding with 2-28 off four and Kirtley 1-22 from three including the crucial wicket of Harvey. Average T20 score here this season is 154 but this looks a good batting pitch. We'll see. Come on Sussex!

Northants 107-4 (17) Still Sussex keeping it really tight. One four in the last four overs but mostly singles from Boje (19) and Wessels (10). All his bowlers have given Yardy control and now it's the old firm at the end. Kirtley has one over left and Arafat is back at the pavilion end.

Northants 89-4 (14)

Beer and Yardy bowled a combined 8-0-49-2 and Beer was rewarded in his last over when Wakeley swung one high to the mid-wicket boundary where Arafat got under the catch. Boje 11, Wessels 4

Northants 70-3 (11)

A few cheers of Sussex by the Sea ringing out as Yardy gets the dangerous O'Brien for 24. He came down the pitch trying to turn it round the corner but the length was too full, he missed at Hodd whipped off the bails. Wakeley 4, new batsman Nicky Boje. Beer still on and apart from a six which O'Brien dragged from outside off over long on he has bowled well.

Northants 56-2 (9)

Great piece of work by Joyce at mid-wicket runs out White who responded to O'Brien's call for a single but failed to beat the direct hit. Beer into the attack at the pavilion end which made it six bowling changes in the first eight overs. O'Brien 13, Alex Wakeley 1.

Northants 39-1 (6)

Sussex would have liked a couple more wickets in the powerplay but they will be happy with the situation, especially as the dangerous Harvey has gone. Yardy onto bowl - the fifth bowling change so far. White 14, O'Brien 3.

Northants 23-1 (4)

That's a big wicket as Harvey goes for 21, playing on trying to hit a straight ball through the off side. He hit four fours. White 1 not out - Sussex could do with keeping him in! New batsman is Niall O'Brien.

Northants 10-0 (2)

Wright conceded two fours to Harvey in the first over but Arafat has just conceded just two runs off White in his first from the pavilion end.

Good morning everyone and welcome to our coverage of Sussex v Northants in the semi-final of the Twenty20 Cup.

Edgbaston is filling up ahead of the 11.30am start here with Kent v Somerset starting at 3pm.

Sussex have been here before of course, losing to the eventual winners Kent in the semis two years ago. I sense they might go one better than that today but Northants are a dangerous side and, having not played Sussex before in T20, an unknown quantity.

Sussex have just won the toss and are going to bowl. They have chased well in the competition this season so that is no surprise. Nicky Boje, the Steelbacks' captain, would have batted first.

Sussex are playing leg-spinner Will Beer so their team is the one which defeated Warwickshire in the quarter-final.

Sussex: Goodwin, Wright, Hamilton-Brown, Smith, Joyce, Yardy, Nash, Arafat, Hodd, Beer, Kirtley.

Northants: Harvey, R.White, O'Brien, Boje, Wakeley, Wessels, Hall, van der Wath, Willey, Panesear, Daggett.
