A man is in a serious condition after being stabbed in central Brighton this morning.
The 29-year-old is thought to have been visiting the city for the weekend but suffered a brutal attack in Madeira Drive at around 1am.
Paramedics and police attended the scene and the victim was rushed to The Royal Sussex County Hospital.
A police spokeswoman said: “He is in a serious condition, but is believed to be stabilising.
“The 29-year-old male from Hertfordshire received stab wounds in Madeira Drive.
“A 22-year-old man has been arrested and will be interviewed today.
“We are appealing for anyone who has any information on the attack.”
