A car which crashed while towing a burger van had been stolen, police said today.

The A259 near Angmering was blocked after a Subaru 4x4 car jack-knifed at about 4.30pm on Wednesday.

The driver ran from the scene.

Sussex Police confirmed the car had been stolen from the Thames Valley area.

The driver is described as white, aged between 25 and 30, 5ft 8in, with short fair hair.
