Stanmer Park will see a change of pace this weekend as it plays host to a gruelling six-hour mountain bike race.
As well as the main endurance event, there will be the pre-95 retro category for vintage enthusiasts and the Onederdog category for anyone who wants to do a lap.
Following the success of last year’s race, Long Good Saturday, which was part of a series of events sponsored by mountain-bike superstar Gary Fisher, this year Stanmer’s single track has been enhanced to accommodate more riders and spectators.
Families are welcome and there will be a bouncy castle plus tea, coffee, ice cream and cake stalls. There will be music from resident DJs, Harveys ale from the barrel, and clothing and bike-related stalls.
*10.30am to 6pm. Endurance race starts noon. Visit brightonbigdog.com.
