The local theme pub Hemingway's, at the top of Cuthbert Road, closed last week. Shuttering was placed on all the windows for security.
Prominently located on Freshfield Road, it had been given a make-over as a tribute to Ernest Hemingway, with menus to include ostrich burgers. It was previously known as the Cuthbert Hotel, with a family-friendly beer garden.
It is now being marketed by Enterprise Inns for a New Lease or Tenancy.
