I WAS utterly disgusted by my recent train journey home from work on July 29.
I got the 5.40pm train from Portslade Station. I am eight-and-a-half months pregnant and was travelling home from my job as a care manager.
I expected the train to be busy as it is during peak times. What I did not expect was to have to stand the whole way home.
Not one person offered to give up their seat, despite the priority seats for elderly, disabled and expectant mothers. I also received a comment about the seats available from a young man who said: “If you snooze you lose.”
I have always been taught to give up my seat for someone less able and always have and will continue to do so.
I hope anyone reading this will think twice and offer to give their seat up for anyone less able.
