Students will be putting their minds to getting a hole in one on a new course.
An advanced apprenticeship in golf has been launched by City College Brighton and Hove, with the Sussex College of Golf.
The full-time course will tee off in September and is designed for golf players with single figure handicaps who are interested in a career in golf, whether playing or teaching.
Students will be getting into the swing of things at Lindfield Golf Club, a parkland course on the Sussex Weald near Haywards Heath.
All of the elements of the course are designed around the golf industry and will enable students to be at the fore-front of employment in that field..
Phil Frier, the principal of City College Brighton and Hove, said: "City College is delighted to be working with Sussex College of Golf.
“We think it’s really important for the young golfers at the college to have a high quality general education which will back up the developments of their technical skills on the course.
“Sussex College of Golf has an excellent reputation for developing students not just for a career on the golf circuit but also in preparation for business and a wide variety of social situations.
“City College is pleased to be able to contribute to the vocational qualifications of these gifted golfers of the future."
Paul Lyons, the managing director of Sussex College of Golf, said: “Sussex College of Golf is extremely excited about working with City College.
“We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional tuition and coaching to our students and our new relationship with City College will allow us to continue our work with these talented young golfers.”
It is not the first unusual course offered by the college, last year it launched a foundation degree in street arts performance. As the first of its kind in the country, the course offered students the chance to brush up on their juggling, mime and street skills.
Other courses offered in Sussex include a four-year adventure education degree at the University of Chichester, foundation degree courses in wine production and wine business at Plumpton College and a degree in computer games at the University of Brighton.
