I WORKED at Dubarry’s from 1938 to 1942 when I joined the WLA.
The department I worked in was bath salts and bath cubes.
Heart of a Rose was a lovely perfume, and the bath salt jars were octagonal.
We mixed up the salts in huge dishes adding the colouring and the perfume.
We had to wear caps in those days.
If we got on buses the passengers knew where we worked because we all smelt so nice.
They were very happy days.
