SUSSEX WON BY 9 WKTS That was emphatic. Wright has just hit his 18th boundary to seal victory with the first ball of the 27th over. Wright finished on 95 from just 62 balls with 18 fours and a six. Joyce gave him good support with 66 off 77 balls with nine fours. So Sussex go back to the top of the first division after this very impressive performance.

Been another good week at Horsham. Sussex back at Hove on Tuesday against Worcestershire in the Championship. Join me then for online coverage.

Sussex 156-1 (21) Hundred stand in 83 balls and this is a stroll for the Sharks. Wright's 50 came off 39 balls and all in boundaries - 11 fours and a six. Joyce to 50 off 53 balls with eight fours. Glos'ter's bowling has been abject but I suspect the fact that they have come into this game on the back of four hard Championship days at Southend is a factor.

Sussex 100-1 (13) Stroll this for Sussex as Wright brings up the 100 with a six off Saxelby over long on. He is 32 and Joyce 44. Don't suppose the crowd mind too much that it's been so one-sided so far but they seem to be enjoying themselves.

Sussex 64-1 (8) Great start by Joyce and RHB against some pretty ordinary bowling from Kirby and Lewis but now RHB has gone fore 28. He came down the pitch trying to cut the first offering from off-spinner Richard Dawson but missed and was stumped for 28. RHB 27 and Wright off the mark with two boundaries in the same Dawson over.

Sussex 6-0 (1) Reprieve for RHB in the first over when a mis-timed pull off Lewis is spilled by Kadeer Ali as he runs in from the mid-wicket fence. Kirby opening up at the Railway end. RHB 5, Joyce 1.

GLOS 189 all out Hat-trick for Arafat in the last over! Adshead's pull drive went straight to Chris Nash at wide mid-on and Ian Saxelby and Steve Kirby were both yorked! Great finish to an excellent bowling performance by Sussex.

Glos 176-7 (39) Kirtley back and he runs out Dawson who was backing up too far when Adshead drilled the ball back to him. Adshead 22 and Jon Lewis in with him for the last knockings.

Glos 141-6 (33) That's a big wicket for Sussex. Marshall had just reached his 50 from 56 balls with four fours but he's just been held low down by Hodd driving at Yardy standing up. Adhsead 6, Richard Dawson with him but Sussex on top.

Glos 139-5 (32) Wicket for RHB as Taylor's inside-out drive is held on the cover boundary by Arafat. He made 25, Marshall is 49 and Steve Adshead, who made a c-b in the Champo at Southend last week, is in with him.

Glos 130-4 (31) Spin now but it;s fairly sedate progress by the visitors here. Marshall 48, Taylor 21 but Yardy, who has had two overs, and RHB, about to start his second, have kept it reasonably tight. Just had a walk round the ground: 3,000 in here at least and everyone enjoying themselves. A great advert for 40 over cricket's appeal.

Glos 73-4 (20) Franklin's skittish innings ends and credit Yardy for keeping a slip in. He takes the catch as Franklin drives outside off at Wright and edges it at chest height. Wright deserves that stick. Marshall 11 and Chris Taylor is the new batsman.

Glos 61-3 (17) Double bowling change. Kirtley took 3-18 from six overs and has given way to Martin-Jenkins at the Town End. Wright on for Arafat and he nearly got Franklin who edged just over slip's right hand on 19 for a boundary. He has moved on to 25 and Marshall is 10 but it's been a decent start by the Sussex seamers.

Glos 35-3 (11) Turning into Kirtley's day as he tumbles to his left to hold on to a sharp return catch and end a painful innings by Kadeer for 5. That's three wickets for him. Franklin also edged him just short of slip in his previous over. He is 10 and has been joined by another Kiwi, Hamish Marshall.

Glos 18-2 (5) Two wickets for Kirtley in his opening burst. Will Porterfield scored 17 of the first 18 runs before checking a drive and giving a simple return catch. Now Kirtley has got Alex Gidman for 2, caught behind poking outside off stump.

It could have been worse for Glos with Kadeer Ali dropped at second slip by Ed Joyce off Yasir Arafat when he hadn't scored. Routine chance that he should have taken. Still, good start by Sussex.
