The man who was found dead in a blaze in town centre woodland has been identified.
The charred body of Christopher George Lunn, 55, was found alight by firefighters in a coppice off Haslett Avenue East, Crawley.
He had been sleeping rough around Sussex for a number of months.
Police confirmed he had recently stayed at Crawley Open House, in Stephenson Way Industrial Park.
His body was found in a makeshift camp, a short distance from the homeless shelter.
Firefighters were called to the woodland opposite Three Bridges Football Club on Tuesday at about 3pm.
They believe the fire was started by a cigarette lighting bedding or clothing.
A post-mortem confirmed Mr Lunn had died from natural causes before the blaze took hold.
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: “We want to thank everybody who has spoken to us over the past few days.”
