The planning committee meets at 2pm every 3rd Wednesday at Hove Town Hall for Councillors to consider and decide planning applications that come to them. On 22nd July, The Sackville Trading Estate application is on the agenda, with a recommendation from officers "Minded to Grant".
My previous item on this subject will tell you more. The deadline for receipt of comments or objections is noon on Friday - l7th July for inclusion in the "Late List". The Report for the agenda is now written and will be uploaded to the council website by noon on Wednesday. Even if granted, the application would not go ahead immediately. There are some 52 Conditions as I write which must be dealt with first along with agreement and signing of the s106 Agreement which involves handing over money to the council for various local needs (a kind of consequences payment) like schools, transport, etc. There is also the recession and the extended leaseholds of the present occupants which will play a big part in timing just when this development could go ahead. The land is in permanent ownership by The Coal Pension Board so they can do this when it is right for them to go ahead.
The public are always welcome to attend any council meeting.
