Again starting the post about the weather – but man this wind is starting to bug me- I hope it will go away soon! I decided I would take advantage of the sun and run along the seafront. Not warming up and running against the wind, this proved to be a big mistake and I have been hobbling for the majority of the week! I might have to get the assistance of Stevie Cook because if I manage to make it to my house in Hove to the new Pier and back I have pledged to put myself in the Race for Life –watch this space!
So this weekend is another bank holiday (whoo hoo) I love this time of year! And with expectations that it will be one of the hottest of the year I would not be surprised to see many beach BBQ’s lining the promenade throughout the weekend – It’s sure one of my plans. I think it would be with getting up early and picking up some fresh fish for the occasion (If you go away from the cockle huts towards Hove, I have seen a man selling very fresh fish that I want to explore) If the weather stays good (and I get the use of my legs back) I might also try and go for a long cycle over the downs or somewhere like Lewes and reward myself with a good pint and a roast dinner in a nice country pub somewhere. As usual, if anyone has any examples of good route – let me know and I will be happy to try them out, as I have heard Lewes is beautiful but rather bumpy!
It’s also a weekend of home truths for Fringe events this weekend as we’re off to see a comedy called Divorce and another called OCD – two topics that are prominent in my fella and my families – so will either make us laugh or cry!
Did any one see Wake The Dead, at The Black Lion last night? It looks like a wicked show that’s on again on Saturday and if there’s room after OCD that I am very tempted to try and squeeze it in. According to Argus’ Rob Hogey, the Black Lion is transformed into a “world of mournful ghosts and a psychedelic cavalcade of interactive storytelling” he also mentions that you can expect dancers, performers, artists and musicians, inspired by the Celtic festival Samhain and the Mexican Day Of The Dead as well as dancing, live music, digital trickery and of course dancing! Sounds like so much fun, even with a bank holiday; there are just never enough nights to fit everything in!
