After a fairly dreary winter, summer is finally here in Brighton. The sun is out, people are wearing less and best of all the summer collections are now hitting the high-street rails. It's well and truly time to ditch the boring charcoal-grey knits and black jersey and spring clean your closet fresh for the new season.
One thing people aren't afraid of in Brighton are colourful, attention grabbing clothes - the confidence and attitude that's just perfect for embracing this month's key feel-good trend alert: Yellow.
The zingy sunshine-hue is popping all over the place with style icons Kate Moss, Cheryl Cole and Sarah Jessica Parker all recently injecting some citrus brights into their wardrobe.
For those of you that think you would feel a little 'Sesame Street' in yellow dress, accessorise with the bags, costume jewellery and shoes that are hitting the high-street and Brighton boutiques to be effortlessly bang on trend. There's also a variety of shades to choose from to suit every skin tone perfectly, so there's no excuse to be drab.
Accents of yellow can look elegant, sexy and down-right dazzling, so after a trawl of the shops over the bank holiday weekend, here are my essential picks from Brighton high-street:
