Electricity company EDF has apologised after 2,800 homes and businesses suffered a power cut last night.
A fault on a high voltage underground electricity cable knocked out power in Hove at about 10.20pm on Sunday.
The streets affected were Western Road, Selborne Road, St Nicholas Road, Lansdowne Place, Buckingham Street and Church Road.
A spokeswoman for the company said was restored in stages between 10.52pm and 11.32pm.
She added: “EDF Energy Networks would like to apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused.”
