Two modern British masters demonstrate the power of the five-piece as the Dave Holland Quintet and the Andy Sheppard Quintet share a bill.
Dave Holland’s place on the jazz map was secured in 1968 when he worked with Miles Davis after paying his dues alongside the likes of Coleman Hawkins and John Surman.
Pioneering saxophonist Andy Sheppard has assembled an international band that bears all of his hallmarks – melodic invention, unerring rhythm and textural depth.
