The first week of boot camp is over and I have come out the other side unscathed.
We have been fortunate because the weather has been beautiful every morning, making the walk to the seafront at stupid o'clock seem much more respectable.
I have to admit, after Tuesday's session I did wonder what on earth I was putting myself through.
My muscles were so sore I could barely walk and standing up and sitting down was incredibly uncomfortable.
The change in diet has also made me quite grumpy. I am really missing all sorts of food which I am not allowed to eat on this diet.
Granted, the food I want won't help me to shift the weight but I am missing bread and potatoes far more than I thought I would.
But, I am starting to feel the benefits.
Not once have I felt bloated after eating this week. I have also not felt in the slightest bit lethargic, despite the 5.30am starts and my trousers feel that little bit looser.
Wednesday was not as bad as I had anticipated and my legs felt much less achy afterwards.
That morning's session was at the children's playground where Rachael had conjured up an assault course for us.
But getting up on Thursday was a real struggle and I almost hit the snooze button on my alarm clock, which would have proved fatal because I would have gone back to sleep.
Back on Hove Lawns we really stretched our legs out using resistance bands (a great invention), which was slightly painful but also felt good at the same time.
I am sticking to the diet, which actually isn't so bad, although I'd still like to eat the biggest Cornish pasty I could possibly find.
I have completed two runs over the weekend and I am gearing myself up for another four days of training.
My alarm will go off in six hours and I have a feeling it’s going to be raining.
I am not looking forward to that at all.
