I admire Diane Waller’s optimism regarding her hope that “it is unlikely rail engineering works will continue for much longer” and that the Sunday market can return to Brighton Station (Letters April 22).
Unfortunately, the sad reality is that rail engineering works will never be finished.
Network Rail appears to take a similar approach to painting the Sydney Harbour Bridge in that as soon as they have finished they need to go back to the beginning and start all over again.
