With regard to the article “Is this really the best we can do?” with the accompanying photograph of overflowing recycling boxes (The Argus, April 23) and also the photograph of another overflowing box (The Argus, April 23).
May I offer a little advice to those people putting recyclable items out? You can get twice as much material in a box if you (a) squash steel and aluminium cans (with the lids inside), (b) remove the caps from plastic bottles and squash them too and (c) take apart and flatten all cardboard boxes. It’s very simple, isn’t it?
