In a city already renowned for its nightlife, festival organisers have to go that little bit further to impress. To this end, the line-up this year offers revellers everything from silent DJ battles to crazy clothes swapping – not to mention a handful of “secret” parties to be discovered on the night.

The Secret Garden Party festival organisers are creating a mystery event somewhere behind Madam Geisha, while Copperdollar take over the Black Lion pub and turn it into a world of fantastical characters, theatre, live music and dancing. Plus there’s Playgroup’s secret Prohibition-era speakeasy, complete with bourbon and dancing-girls.
