A superb evening’s entertainment, including thrills, surprises, laughs – and a great dinner – is provided by Murder At The Mowbray, Eastbourne’s new murder mystery experience.
The Mowbray Hotel invites would-be sleuths to investigate the death of the Duke of Yorkie, by questioning a talented cast from Underground Productions. Hosts at the four-star hotel, Darren and Laura Weir, both criminal barristers by profession, have put together an intriguing whodunnit.
Dean Matthews, who is excellent as saucy solicitor Sam Christie, sets the scene by reading the Duke’s will. Dee Sharpe, as the Duke’s fiery sister-in-law, is also utterly convincing and they are given good support by Phillip Willet, Rob Wood and June Harris.
Guests take on roles themselves while trying to discover one another’s secrets. Attendees are given a list of written questions, which makes indulging in spontaneous repartee with the actors slightly difficult.
The murder mystery evenings are on May 7 and 21, June 4 and 25, July 2, 16 and, 30, August 13 and 27, and September 10 and 24.
Tickets are priced at £42 each (£80 for a couple) and include a tasty four-course meal, with a free bottle of wine for every group of four booking. Call 01323 720012 or visit murderatthemowbray.com.
