It is 1814 and mercurially gifted actor Edmund Kean makes his Drury Lane debut – an appearance that would change British theatre for ever.
Once a performer at Theatre Royal Brighton, Kean now returns to recount the tragicomic arc of his own life, the story of a grieving, drunk megalomaniac who became one of the world’s first transatlantic superstars.
Prodigal Theatre’s acclaimed one-man show is a damning indictment of our own celebrity-obsessed age.
Starts 9pm. Returns only.
