Da Doo Ron Ron Sister Funk Special, Komedia, Brighton, April 24 DJ Ian Wright promises “all killers, no fillers” for a night of female-fronted funk.
Femme pop sensation Da Doo Ron Ron goes 1960s and 1970s soul with the funk legend, who is making a rare UK appearance to spin the likes of Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Marlena Shaw, Gladys Knight, Marva Whitney and Lyn Collins.
Ian says: “If you can’t dance to it, I won’t be playing it.
“I enjoy seeing people getting down to stuff they’ve probably never heard before. The music always comes first – no scratching, beat juggling or gimmicks.”
