This wonderful creation will be the star of this year’s Brighton’s Children’s Parade – which marks the beginning of the Brighton Festival.
The puppet, called Prince Sunflower Xiang Ri Kui, will be part of this year’s parade and organisers want people who spot him to take pictures and post them on his Facebook page.
Prince Sunflower is one of 17 steel puppets made as part of an arts project and is the first to be unveiled in Brighton with more to follow.
The parade will leave North Laine at 10.30am on Saturday, May 2, and march to Madeira Drive.
Attended by children from across the city and watched by thousands, the parade – in its 19th year – promises to a fantastic carnival of colour and music.
The Argus will have a full report on Monday, May 4, and an eight-page picture special on Tuesday, May 5.
