Regarding the dangerous placement of several of the new communal bins (The Argus, April 16), despite several phone calls and emails I have not received a reply from the council other than that the positioning of the bins was due to extensive research and consultation.
Extensive research has led to the bin at the end of my street restricting visibility for cyclists and car drivers.
It also causes vans and larger cars to mount the pavement to turn the corner, while the collection lorry has to perform an illegal manoeuvre to reach the bin.
Also the bin at the Texaco garage blocks visibility into the busy Kingsway as you enter from St Aubyns.
I feel the council has forced these things upon us without proper guidance or common sense.
