WITH reference to Mr Boyask’s letter (The Argus, April 15), by this dentist’s own admission a lot of tooth decay is caused by lack of care taken with dental hygiene.
Why is it any harder for this generation than earlier ones?
Many of today’s pensioners have their own teeth. Their dental hygiene was very basic but parents were diligent in overseeing cleaning.
Have tests been taken on overall fluoridation? I have heard that fluoride, a highly toxic substance, can affect the thyroid system in the older population.
I personally am extremely unwell and sensitive to most things ingested. It costs me hundreds of pounds to keep myself safe. So, I say, how dare you self-medicate me?
If parents and children want to poison themselves, let them have fluoridated bottled water free – their choice.
Please don’t come out with the old chestnut that it will be in such small amounts it cannot harm you. I don’t believe that fairy tale any more.
Along with all the other chemicals, pollution and rubbish we are forced to breathe, drink and eat it will be one more thing we can do without. I understand clean water is necessary to sustain life. Rest assured, if this is denied to me I will do all I can to preserve this human right.
