I am appalled that the recycle crews of Cityclean are so ill they are incapable of being able to move more than 6ft from their lorries to collect waste.

Why do I say that? Because for the past four collections they have been unable to move from one side of the pavement to the other to empty my bins.

When I contacted Cityclean I was informed that their leaflet states you should place the bins at the edge of your property. But you actually have to get up at 6am and place them at the kerb.

If not, the crews have to walk more each day. So I placed the bins at the bottom of the steps to my house and still no collection.

I therefore assume that because I have complained the crew are boycotting me.

I also assume the people of Cityclean don’t care that the boxes (now overflowing) on the pavement are a danger to people that are partially sighted or have prams or wheelchairs.

I am relatively young and fit but what about the older people in Brighton?

Why, when paying so much council tax, should we have to do half the work for these crews?

The crew that empty the normal bins, usually a lot heavier, take items from much further on my property.

So is it one rule for one crew and one for another?
