A controversial suicide advocate dubbed "Dr Death" is reportedly selling suicide kits for £35.
Australian Philip Nitschke is due to speak at the Brighthelm Centre in Brighton next month.
His suicide kit is designed to test the strength of drugs planned to be used for a suicide to ensure they will kill.
The Reverend David Coleman, from the United Reformed Church, which manages the Brighthelm Centre, has defended the forthcoming event.
He said that while he did not support or condone Dr Nitschke, he believed in the public's right to hold a discussion on suicide and euthanasia.
