Councillors will be discussing proposals to cut a speed limit from 40mph to 30mph.
The change for Upper Shoreham Road, in Shoreham, will be discussed by West Sussex County Council s Adur County Local Committee.
A report due before the committee states: "In the last three years there have been eight slight injury crashes along this length of road."
Councillor Clive Williams, chairman of the county local committee, said: "The meeting will give residents the chance to discuss the proposal with members of the committee and the county council's highways team."
The meeting is on Thursday, July 23 at Sompting Village Hall, West Street, Sompting, at 7pm.
