A young couple needed hospital treatment after a fire started in their flat in Eastbourne.
They were injured breathing in fumes from the blaze in Victoria Drive.
The fire started when heat from a free-standing lamp melted a stereo speaker mounted on the wall above it.
Firefighters were called at about 1am today.
The man and woman, both in their 20s, were taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.
