A Sussex crooner will be trying to persuade people he has Britain’s best Rat Pack repertoire.
Dean Ager’s dark slicked back hair and sharp black suit is recognisable in cocktail bars, restaurants and theatres across the county but tonight he’ll be singing in the live final of the Rendezvous Rat Pack, a national competition to find the best tribute act to the 1950s Las Vegas style.
Mr Ager, 35, started his swing singing when he was 17 and working as a Redcoat at the former Saltdean Butlins.
Now the father of two from Lancing has to juggle baby care with producing his début album Sentimental.
But he’s more sure than ever that he is Britain’s real Rat Pack man.
Having successfully got through all the heats, he will be crooning at Brighton Marina Casino at 8pm.
